The Smart Butterfly Change of the Internet of Things "Pilot City" in Zhilian World

China Daily Online, October 19th From October 20th to 23rd, the 2023 World Internet of Things Expo with the theme of "Smart World, Integration and Empowerment" will be held in Wuxi. The world’s elite in the field of Internet of Things will gather at the shore of Taihu Lake to exchange the latest achievements and excellent application cases of the industry and look forward to the future development prospect of the Internet of Things industry.
Since the State Council deployed and built the National Sensor Network Innovation Demonstration Zone in Wuxi in 2009, this charming city, the Pearl of Taihu Lake, has begun to explore hard to build an Internet of Things industrial cluster and a demonstration and application pilot zone. In 2022, the operating income of the core industry of the Internet of Things in Wuxi was 93.45 billion yuan, driving the scale of related industries to 401.1 billion yuan, accounting for nearly 50% of Jiangsu Province.
In the past fourteen years, the Internet of Things technology has penetrated into all fields of Wuxi’s economic and social development, and new technologies, new applications and new scenes of the Internet of Things have appeared here.
"unmanned farm" foresees the future agricultural prospect
Wuxi is a new highland for the development of Internet of Things in China. How to make agriculture catch this bus better is an important direction for the practice of Wuxi Xishan National Modern Agricultural Industrial Park.
The new equipment such as unmanned plant protection machine, unmanned harvester and unmanned irrigation equipment in the industrial park has become the "main force" of planting management. Wuxi Intelligent Agricultural Machinery Equipment R&D Demonstration Center, which was unveiled here on May 12, 2023, will unite the whole unmanned operation test consortium and the on-board information service industry application alliance to jointly build the whole unmanned operation (Wuxi) experimental area of agriculture and promote the construction of intelligent agricultural machinery and the industrial ecosystem of agricultural Internet of Things.
The unmanned farm project of Wuxi Taihu Rice Demonstration Park in the industrial park promotes the high integration of mechanization, informationization and intelligence through the comprehensive application of technologies such as Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, 5G and big data, and realizes "all-weather, whole process and whole space" unmanned operation, and realizes precise operation, informationization and intelligent management of grain production. With the blessing of smart agriculture, unmanned farms can save more than 2 kilograms of seeds per mu, increase production by 10 kilograms, and reduce fuel costs.
It is more than 10% lower, the labor cost is reduced by more than 65%, and the land utilization rate is increased by 0.5%-1%.
According to Shi Feng, deputy director of the Management Committee of Xishan National Modern Agricultural Industrial Park, the implementation of the high-standard unmanned demonstration farm here has introduced modern technologies such as Beidou high-precision positioning, high-level intelligent control, integrated measurement and control of the sky and the ground, agricultural Internet of Things, high-quality and high-yield rice and wheat varieties, precision and precision cultivation, etc., forming a complete set of unmanned high-yield and high-efficiency rice and wheat planting system, aiming to teach experts the high-yield cultivation mode through the whole process of intelligent planting in the field, and to model and standardize the planting process to realize agricultural machinery agronomy.
Logistics robot drives industry reform
With the wide application of Internet of Things technology in Wuxi, the products and services in the logistics industry will be iteratively upgraded, which will usher in a smarter and more efficient era of unmanned distribution.
Wuxi Youqi Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., located in Xuelang Town, Wuxi Economic Development Zone, was born in September 2020. It is a scientific and technological innovation enterprise integrating products, systems and services, and is committed to promoting the unmanned transformation of logistics with "AI+ robots" and autonomous driving technology.
According to Li Bei, CEO of the company, relying on the self-developed UPilot robot operating system and ACU robot core controller, Kawara Tsutomu series industrial mobile robots and Red Rabbit L4 unmanned logistics vehicles have been launched successively, providing customers with integrated unmanned factory, unmanned warehouse and unmanned distribution solutions, and helping enterprises to operate intelligently and efficiently. The company mainly focuses on five major industries, such as automobiles, tires, 3C electronics, batteries and e-commerce. At present, it has provided logistics robot products and services to world-renowned customers such as BYD Auto, Volkswagen, Michelin Tire and China Electronics.
Atmospheric Environmental Monitoring Helps the Construction of Low-carbon Cities
With the increasingly serious problem of global climate change, the global awareness of environmental protection has been enhanced, and the vigorous development of the Internet of Things industry in Wuxi has also begun to be applied in the comprehensive improvement of the atmospheric environment, helping Wuxi to build a low-carbon city.
Wuxi Zhongke Optoelectronic Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Zhongke Optoelectronic") is a national-level "specialized and innovative" small giant enterprise integrating high-end monitoring instrument technology research, product development, integrated application and air quality improvement.
Zhou Jianfeng, director of government affairs of Zhongke Optoelectronics, said that the company took the lead in developing integrated products such as the series of three-dimensional monitoring vehicles for atmospheric environment, the super monitoring station for atmospheric environment, the particulate matter/photochemical group substation, and the laser radar network to create an "air-ground-sky integration" atmospheric environment monitoring network, which provides data support for scientific pollution control. The company adopts the integration of Internet of Things technology to build an integrated air pollution prevention and control command system with multi-dimensional data, which serves the three-dimensional monitoring of air pollution in Wuxi, excavates the internal correlation of multi-site data, and makes clear the pollution characteristics, pollution sources and components through analysis and judgment, and accurately assists regional atmospheric environment forecasting and early warning.
Whether "unmanned farms" promote the construction of intelligent agricultural machinery and the industrial ecosystem of agricultural Internet of Things, the innovation "storm" brought by "logistics robots" to the industry, or the three-dimensional monitoring of atmospheric environment helps the city’s air quality to improve, these are vivid cases of Wuxi’s pioneering application of Internet of Things technology.
At present, the application of Internet of Things technology in Wuxi covers more than 300 sub-sectors such as transportation, environmental protection, medical care and safety. With the continuous penetration of Internet of Things technology in various industries, new technologies, new products and new racetracks are accelerating in Wuxi, bringing more new kinetic energy to industrial development and urban application.
