Yu Xinjie, head of the online teaching guidance expert group of Tsinghua University: Mixed education and teaching will become the general trend.
Cctv news(Reporter Kang Yanlong): "I think the exploration of online teaching will promote the formation of a new normal in education." On May 14th, the Ministry of Education held a press conference to introduce the situation of online education in primary, secondary and primary schools during the epidemic and the next work considerations. Professor Yu Xinjie, the leader of the online guidance expert group in Tsinghua University, said in response to a question from a CCTV reporter that the online and offline mixed education and teaching mode would become the general trend.

At present, the global epidemic continues, and it may continue for some time. How to achieve substantial equivalence, so that tens of millions of college students can carry out high-quality learning activities online at home, so as to ensure the quality of learning, is a question that every college administrator and teacher needs to answer in this epidemic prevention and control exam.
In order to do a good job in online education and teaching, Tsinghua University established four working groups, including "Online Teaching Guidance Expert Group" on February 6, to provide high-quality teaching services from different angles such as teaching methods, teaching quality, teaching platform and student support, and put forward "effectiveness is the way, data is the device; The basic principle of "interaction as the body, live broadcast for use".
In Xin Jie’s view, training was once the most difficult task after the implementation of online teaching mode. On February 5th, when the leaders of Tsinghua University University mobilized more than 50,000 teachers and students for online teaching, only about 400 of the more than 2,000 teachers who attended classes in the spring semester mastered online teaching techniques. For this reason, Tsinghua University has carried out the organizational training. Before the class starts on February 17th, all the teachers who have classes this semester have received at least one online teaching training.
Yu Xinjie said that in the course of online teaching this semester, Tsinghua University discovered some remarkable advantages of online teaching. For example, students will see the courseware made by the teacher more clearly than sitting in the classroom before, because they are all equivalent to sitting in the front row, and they will hear what the teacher said clearly. If the teacher’s interaction is designed properly, the frequency of interaction will be higher than before, and the quality of interaction will be better.

Yu Xinjie expounded his three understandings that online teaching will move from "freshness" to "new normal".
First, blended education and teaching will become the general trend. For many teachers and students, the current "epidemic" action of education and teaching is equivalent to an "enlightenment movement" of mixed teaching, and many "whites" of mixed teaching have grown into "talents" of online teaching after several months of practice. In addition to online teaching, many teachers are particularly surprised to find that he can know a lot of data about students’ learning effectiveness that was impossible to master in the classroom teaching process, which can help him adjust at any time. In addition, students who study online will also feel the convenience brought by this learning method. After returning to the campus, most or even the vast majority of courses will introduce online learning elements in some way, making mixed education and teaching become the general trend.
Second, new scenes of blended teaching will emerge constantly. With the progress of tools and the improvement of teaching methods, there have been many vivid cases in which teachers can interact with hundreds or even thousands of people online to produce high-quality real-time interaction between "teaching and learning" and "learning and learning", which was impossible in the past, which gave the word classroom a brand-new definition. Therefore, in the post-epidemic period, there will be more and more super teachers. With the help of tools and teaching assistants, they can provide high-quality teaching to thousands of learners online in real time. Even if all the students return to campus, there may be a new mixed teaching scene in which more teachers are willing to study online.
Third, the new model of blended education is beginning to take shape. During the anti-epidemic period, Tsinghua University provided "clone classes" for students from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan University, Xinjiang University and Taiyuan University of Technology, and "weiyang classes" for students from Tsinghua. Based on these practices, it may provide a new solution to the training mode of double bachelor’s degree and minor degree, and even to build a wider range of lifelong learning system.
Yu Xinjie emphasized that in order to gradually realize these new normals, a lot of work needs to be done in network infrastructure, resource and tool development, and teacher experience summary and training.
It is understood that at present, Tsinghua University is fully considering the upcoming final exam. Put forward the scheme from the perspectives of proposition, invigilation, platform and special situation plan, and strive to obtain real learning results and ensure substantive equivalence.
